Death Beckons

Our time is near

It is but a breadth

Our time is near

Calls the angel of death

Death reminds us

Of all that is dear

Death reminds us

Of all that is fleeting

Death reminds us

Of what we’ll leave behind

Death reminds us

Of significant loss

Death awakens hope

For the weak and the oppressed

Death is a respite

For those with no rest

Death is a relief

Of everlasting bliss

Death awakens man

From his slumber

Death is sudden and so abrupt

It awakens one from dreams and disrupts

Death beckons for eternal life

What have we prepared laments the one with loss

It takes but the demise of a loved one

It takes but the sight of kafan wrapped in white

It takes but the sight of a Sundooq placed right

To remind of death and eternal life

Fortunate is He who accounts for himself

Fortunate is He who rectifies himself

Fortunate is He who amends and fulfills

All his rights and duties precise

Pause Ya Insaan!

Cease complaining

Cease dangling

Cease dreaming

Reflect Ya Insaan

For our time is near

For our reckoning beckons

For barzaak beyond

Pray Ya Insaan

To change Qadr

To change and reform

To strive and perform

Deeds seeking reward

Act Ya Insaan

On what we know

On what we learn

On what we hear

For our time is near

And the angel of death beckons
